Why I built Planacta
I'm not a software company guessing at your workflow. I run paid search for a living, and I built the tool I kept wishing existed.
I grew up in India and studied digital media in Pune. My first years in this industry were spent running search, shopping and social campaigns for ecommerce and DTC brands, where you learn fast that a campaign is only ever as good as the numbers behind it.
In 2023 I moved to Canada. New country, no network, starting over. A postgrad in Toronto, an internship, then the climb back into the industry I'd already spent years in.
Today I work inside a global media agency network in Toronto, running paid search on six-figure monthly budgets. So every month I do the exact thing Planacta exists to fix: pacing budgets, checking what actually ran against what was planned, and rebuilding client-ready reports by hand.
The plan lives in one spreadsheet. The spend lives in the platforms. The invoice gets built by hand from whichever file someone thinks is current. Numbers drift. Nobody can prove who changed what.
I'd already been building small tools to kill that manual work. Planacta is that same instinct, at full scale.
What we're dreaming of
No agency should ever lose money to a spreadsheet again. The people planning the media deserve tools as good as the platforms spending it, and the boring work of reconciliation and billing is exactly where great software should show up.
